Red Lick ISD Masterplan and Middle School    Texarkana, TX

Masterplanning efforts addressed locating existing specimen trees on the heavily wooded site in order to minimize the number of trees removed for the site development. Efforts also focused on internal and site circulation needs to address flow through the site as well as internal storage of vehicles, busses and parent drop off areas. The site slopes down to the north to an expansive drainage structure that will remain to serve as internal detention of storm water. The drainage structure and multi-purpose fields will make use of the scenic qualities of the sloping site and existing trees.

The new middle school is planned to accomodate 250 students in the 60,000 s.f. facility. A 5,000 s.f. administration building will serve as the curriculum and business offices as well as staff development and training.
