Pottsboro High School Pottsboro, TX
Internal zoning allows the facility to serve as a community center and provides control of building access and security. Passive academic areas, labs and classrooms are located along a wing that connects back to an expansive lobby/dining area, which serves an intermission and overflow area during performances. The athletic wing is positioned to the rear of the site, between the fine arts and academic wing. The double gymnasiums take advantage of the lobby/dining area for occupancy by spectators during athletic events.
The 124,000 s.f. facility utilizes both load bearing masonry and structural steel framing. Texas regionalism is articulated through an expressive use of masonry and metal materials on the building's exterior.
