Clarksville ISD Masterplan and Elementary School Clarksville, TX
Clarksville ISD commissioned a master plan for a recently purchased tract of land. Eventually the land would be the site of a new high school, stadium, administration, middle and elementary school
The initial bond program was intended to fund the elementary school and some small additions at other existing campuses. The school would house pre-k through 5th grade students. Its site was located at the east side of US Highway 37. A larger section of the property would hold the rest of the buildings and was located across the highway.
Designs for the new building focused on the cafeteria as a multi-use space. As such, the final design used this as the center of the building and other program elements radiated from that point. Administration and other group spaces were placed to the south side of the building and would be the main frontage. Classroom wings extended toward the north. To add interest, one wing followed the angle of the highway while the other remained on axis with the cardinal directions.
